A drab day on Holy Island and when I came across this long staying Spotted Flycatcher I feared just record shots would be the order of the day. However a change of position (of the flycatcher), a brightening of the skies and a few lucky snaps and I was very pleased with the results.
This is a very late record. I did see it catch some substantial flies and with two Swallows feeding at the bottom of the Vicar's garden earlier, it shows there is food available. However, the weather is poor and it will need to move on quickly or it will not last long.
