July ...Terns updated again

Not the Terns yet. They are fishing in the bay and groups resting on the beach are always worth a scan.

I'm guessing a non-breeding bird being just 1 year old (not sure how long until fully mature).

This one appears to have a blue CR but no code visible.

These two are going nowhere.

Very distant, heavily cropped shot of the Pectoral Sandpiper at Druridge. Lots of waders have been passing through the bay in the last few days. Curlew, Turnstone, Wood Sandpipers, Black-tailed Godwits. I imagine these are failed breeders or non-breeding birds. 

In addition my first Whinchat returning to the coast on Monday.

Decided to complete the set with Roseate Tern.

Wednesday was quite a strange day with Roseate Tern, Arctic Skua, Spoonbills, Hooded Crow and Quail. Who said July was a slow month?

Just had Chev Marsh Harrier (fem) well in land ... could be bad news.
