Rosy

This is peak Roseate watch season. They now start being seen all along the coast from Coquet to Whitburn. Check flocks on the beach, adults unmistakable and Juvs more like mini Sandwich Tern Juvs. Listen for adult call very different to the harsh tern calls from the other species. (If in doubt of your ID look at the legs and they will often have a silver ring on each leg.)

Spotted Crake (update) the rain overnight raised the water level a little, but with patience the SC put in a fantastic appearance during the lunch-break (Ashes). It emerged into the open and bathed and preened for 15+ minutes. It was finally chased back into cover by a young Moorhen.
