End of Year (2019)

Richardson Dees Park

Kingfisher

Very obliging bird but always in the darker areas of the park. Fabulous oasis in the middle of Wallsend. Arboretum, Park and Wallsend Hall Park all inter-connected.

Easy to have a full day out there if you head for Wallsend Swallow Pond (Rising Sun Country Park)  as well.

Rothbury Riverside

Bullfinch

Dipper

New Year's Eve
Cragside

Lovely to see 5 Whooper Swans on the North Lake, Nelly's Moss. Most unexpected.

Winter Wonderland

An early start to fill the feeders was rewarded with brilliant views of this Water Rail. Unfortunately the early start meant very little light.

Then the light improved and I spent ages photographing bits and pieces in the Country Park.

Goldeneye
(How did it get that name?)

Some of these Siskins flew into the reeds and started drinking. Again they were in the shade so no photos, but great to watch.

A bit of snow and the would have done for next years cards.

A walk from Village to Station and I came across a few Redpolls. (Just as the fog rolled in.)

Beech

Some Winter Plant photos. (Will add captions once I have checked all the books.)
