Becoming Common

There is an awful lot of luck associated with 'birding'.

Standing on the causeway scanning waders (Lots of SP Grey Plover still around.) when I noticed a bird to my left.

Common Crane

I think over the last 10 years I have seen a Crane every year. They rarely linger and most often they are seen passing over the county. So I was delighted with this sighting.

Same picture heavily cropped.

Holy Island was disappointing; cold, windy and wet. 3 Little Egrets at the causeway and a SEO were the other highlights of the morning.

Mostly Newbiggin

Not Sure about this one. Might be Pheasant's Eye (Adonis annua) if so probably a garden escape.

Sea Milkwort?

Having left twitter the best site I miss is BSBI always helpful and quick to give positive help with plant ID.

Dingy Skippers
(third time lucky)
Thanks AP

I think this is a dingy Dingy Skipper.

Love NWT

This Horse Handler managed to flush all the breeding Lapwing a sitting Shoveler and a sitting Mallard.

This photographer had a good view over the ponds. Hopefully he got some good pictures.

Not sure about this Weevil.

Best Guess ...
Common Leaf Weevil

Then the rain came! Thanks to GS for the find and AP for the text. Sadly my  mobile had  a battery fail and I couldn't get in touch with anyone all morning. Still I'm not blue?
