Unusual ...


... to find this in the reedbed. Well given the cold weather it is probably one of the most sheltered areas on the patch. Blue Tits, Dunnocks and Yellow Wagtails certainly use the reeds for roosting. Plenty of spiders, and insects (including moth larvae) to feed on.



Sedge numbers increasing this week. Only three Reed Warblers singing and only two Whitethroats. It's all about to happen in the next two weeks. Sadly I'll miss it as I have to spend two weeks in warm, sunny canyon country finding new birds to photograph.


The interestingly plumaged Swift is still in the bay.



A few Whimbrel passing through at the moment.
