South along the coast from Bamburgh

Started early at Bamburgh this morning.

Hoping to see a Black Guillemot but failed to find it. Then I called in at Monk's House Pool, Seaton Point (Boulmer), Amble and Widdrington Moor Lake.

Turnstone
(A very ambitious one!)

Redshank
(Zoom in to see the delicate markings on the underside.)

Rock Pipit

What a Photo!

If you're not sure what it is ... see next picture.

Wren

Curlew

Spent quite a while photographing this bird. The light was perfect and it was feeding.

Amazing how deep it probes to find tasty morsels.

More Rock Pipit action.

Final stop at Widdrington Moor and the Smew and Scaup finished a very busy day.
