February ... a good start to the month.

Grey Partridge

Geese are a feature of the Druridge birding scene right now. 3-4,000 Pink-footed Geese, 300+ Canada Geese, 500+ Greylags, Single Barnacle, both White-fronted Goose races and this very smart Red-breasted Goose.

Amble harbour used to be good for Mediterranean Gulls, then numbers increased and their favoured spot is now Newbiggin. This one was therefore a nice surprise at Amble on Monday.

Weather forecasts warning of dangerous conditions today meant I was confined to local feeding stations. The threatened weather failed to materialise but it was good to catch up with many of these common species. Siskins, Treecreepers and a few Sparrowhawks added to the spectacle.
