Brightening Up

A tweet from IR that it was getting brighter and I decided to head for Chev. As I pulled in front of the gate I could hear the Teal noisily displaying. A quick scan soon had the Green-winged Teal in the scope. No doubt the Druridge bird, sorry IR.
You'll notice from the photo it wasn't very bright but a walk to the beach and the cobwebs fully blown away time for home and the Chelsea match.

Stunner

Highlight of the morning was this Bearded tit. Managed 2 grab shots before it disappeared into the reeds. A Th saw the bittern on the S pool today.

Ibis

Whooper swan, Slavonian grebe, Black-tailed Godwit and Pintail were the supporting cast today.
The star was the Glossy Ibis very close to the road at Lynemouth

Hide and Seek

A grey day! It brightened up at the end with the target bird in the bag. Visits to Lynemouth, Cresswell, Druridge and Chev failed to find the Ibis reported yesterday.

A call from A Co at dusk and a quick dash to Lynemouth and the Ibis was there. It must have been tantalisingly close on the three visits I made earlier in the day.

I hope the birder from the Borders eventually caught up with the bird. Earlier she rescued a sheep stuck in the brambles after checking the path to Walkworth Lane.
Apologies for the rubbish photos but it was another good days birding.

Phone Blogging

Just found some of the disadvantages of phone blogging. You can't edit posts easily, so when the phone predicts text and puts in odd punctuation I can't change it without the laptop. My laptop connection ends soon so apologies for future mistakes they will be rectified when I can access a computer.

Sunny Chilly Sunday

I think I appreciate the weekends more at this time of year. After a week of ***** finally the chance to unwind.
Today was similar to yesterday but the ducks had taken to deeper water. Buzzards displaying at several sites and a flyover Snow Bunting added the excitement.

Saturday Smiles

A great morning birding with A Co started with A Co finding a bittern. Slavonian grebe and Whooper swan were other highlights. The sea from the burnmouth held 100 RT Divers and a small raft Scoter.
The feeders at the North hide were bristling with birds including six different Redpolls. Three splendid Pintail at Druridge rounded off the morning nicely
The day got even better when I fixed the bathroom light for only £3.79.Result!

Bunting on Beach

Early morning at Chev, roe deer, stoat, brown hare and whooper swan.
The feeders were busy and a Bunting on the beach was nice, even though it was an unexpected reed Bunting.
